What is a Foot Health practitioner?
Foot Health practitioners qualify with a diploma. They work on a wide range of less specialist and invasive procedures. such as the treatment of corns, calluses, athletes foot, fungal nail infections, diabetic foot care and general cutting and filing. their focus is on the basic day to day care of general foot health and prevention of any complications. They will refer you to a podiatrist where necessary.
What is a podiatrist?
A podiatrist has a degree in podiatry and can diagnose complex conditions and prescribe medication. They are trained to deliver specialist treatment when it is needed such as nail surgery, biomechanics (Muscle-bone alignment / poor foot function) and orthotics.
What is a Chiropodist?
A podiatrist and chiropodist are the same thing the latter is just an outdated term. There is no longer a chiropodist qualification available. Therefore in time the term will no longer exist.
What areas do you cover home visits to?
We cover the whole of the Isle of Sheppey and most parts of Sittingbourne.
Can I claim the cost of my appointment back on my health insurance?
Yes we are able to give the receipts needed to claim back on your health insurance.
How often should I get my feet done?
Most of our clients see us every 6 or 8 weeks but this all depends on what your foot condition is.
Is your clinic wheelchair accessible?
Yes it is and is available upon request.
